Rick GoveRick Gove offers 30 years of experience in journalism and public relations. His chief public relations experience is in business-to-business public relations, particularly commercial real estate and professional services. Rick’s journalism background makes him especially successful in media relations and media training. Prior to founding The Gove Network in 1993, he was Vice President for Business-to-Business Services in the Atlanta office of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications. Rick also was responsible for the media spokesperson training program at Fleishman-Hillard, training spokespersons from Information America, MasterCard International, National Asbestos Council, Georgia Society of CPAs, The Westminster Schools and other organizations. Rick began his communication career in journalism. He was Senior Editor of Sports Merchandiser magazine; editor of The Walton Tribune, which under his leadership won the Georgia Press Association award for best local news coverage; staff writer for the Atlanta Business Chronicle; news director for two Georgia radio stations; and staff writer/columnist for The Union-Recorder in Milledgeville, Ga. Rick graduated magna cum laude with a BA degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, where he serves on the advisory board of UGA’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. He is a past board member of the Atlanta Downtown Partnership and the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association. Also, Rick has served as communication advisor to the Atlanta Downtown Office Coalition, Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, and the Georgia chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. Active in the community, Rick serves as President of On Stage Walton, where he has performed in more than 50 plays, and has served on the Walton Music Guild board. |
